as you have probably gathered from this blog/instagram i am obsessed with valentine's day. i have always loved it, ever since i was a little girl. it isn't the romance and lovey dovey stuff that makes me love it {although i do love a special day to love on my hubs and get spoiled, haha}, it's the opportunity to show your family & friends how much you love them! i love the colors, the treats, the cards, the flowers, and most of all the parties! i look forward to throwing this galentine's party for my girlfriends all year long. we've all be through so much together and i don't know what i would do without them. last valentine's day i wrote about love and friendship for my friend catherine's 14 days of love series - i just re-read it and it pretty much sums up why i love valentine's day. also, are those heart glasses not the best thing you've ever seen?! i died when i found them they were so perfect.
but back to the party - this year was the best year yet! thanks to my sweetie girl malorie i was able to pull everything together just in time for everyone to arrive. i served zuppa toscana soup, alicia's crusty artisan bread, caesar salad, strawberry crush, mini chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting, and raspberry jello parfaits. it was really yummy if i do say so myself.

Thanks for the shout-out, Emma!! I'm so glad you participated last year and I love that post. And this party? AMAZING. I love this idea and I think a lot of the time, friendship doesn't get seen as a way to celebrate for Valentine's Day. So I'm glad you made it a point to do that :)

Your party looks like a blast! This was my first Valentine's Day being single and I spent it with a girl friend of mine and at one point we both looked at each other and said "this is the best valentine's day ever!" Saw your blog on "This Won't Hurt a Bit". Love it!
